CJW Architects is a full-service architecture and design firm dedicated to helping our clients achieve their goals and objectives for their projects.  The focus of our work is about utilizing creative problem solving skills to generate unique design solutions for difficult design problems, whereby good design goes beyond the limits of architectural style.  Of upmost importance to the success of our approach is our commitment to listening to and understanding the needs, goals, and objectives of our clients.  Clear and open communication with our clients promotes clarification of the definition of the problem to be solved, engages the client in the design process, and ensures that design solutions that are proposed are consistent with the client’s expectations for their project.

CJW Architects provides a full range of Architectural Services, from pre-design services such as rezoning and replatting of property, land use feasibility studies, and conceptual site design, to the more traditional Architectural Services of building design and construction documentation, as well as interior design services, including custom millwork and furniture design. Since 1992, the firm has produced a variety of project types throughout communities along the front range, including new homes, additions, and remodels, multi-family housing, retail and restaurant, educational facilities, adaptive reuse, and corporate interiors.

Extensive computer modeling is used from the earliest stages of design through completion of construction documentation.  Sophisticated 3D modeling software allows us to generate three-dimensional models of proposed design solutions that are more readily comprehended than traditional two-dimensional architectural drawings.  The computer model is edited and refined throughout the design process, often during meetings with our clients in which they have the opportunity to interact in the design process as various ideas and concepts are explored in real time.  When the design is complete, all drawings and other documentation necessary to explain the design to contractors, lenders, jurisdictional agencies, etc., is generated directly from the computer model.

Incorporating energy conservation and sustainable building practices into our client’s projects is an integral part of our design approach.  While there is a growing awareness today about “building green”, we have promoted the use of sustainable materials and energy conserving technologies to our clients since our inception.  From incorporating simple passive solar strategies, to state of the art alternative energy sources like geothermal heating and cooling and photovoltaic electrical generation, to the specification of engineered wood products and recycled content materials, we strive to design to reduce the life-cycle impact of our projects on the environment.
