An existing 42,000 sf three-story multi-tenant office building with a drive-thru bank was converted for single tenant use as a telecommunications center for an internationally known tour operator. The drive-thru was enclosed adding additional interior space. a new circular entry plaza and tower was created to organize circulation and provide identity for the new tenants. The terrazzo paving pattern of the plaza is brought into the reception area to complete the circle; the paving pattern articulates the cardinal axes symbolizing the global nature of the client’s business. circular walls radiate from the center of the plaza to provide gallery space for the display of the tenant’s large art collection.
Systems furniture was used exclusively for the interior build-out to accommodate the client’s needs to operate several computer networks and operating systems simultaneously and allow for rapid reconfiguration of work areas as needs evolve.
