This project involved redeveloping a 0ne-acre site into mixed-use commercial/retail/restaurant use. The location and nature of the site required careful site planning to synthesize a number of external constraints. Two sides of this triangular shaped site hold the urban edge along fast moving vehicular corridors while the third side opens onto a bucolic pedestrian parkway that connects to the Cherry Creek Path; it was important that the design solution acknowledge and respond appropriately to the different contexts. vehicle access to the site was restricted to two existing locations along the urban edges, and a strong link to the pedestrian parkway was desirable. The design parti proposes three buildings organized around parking. glass towers on the corners of the two buildings fronting onto the commercial corridors act as beacons announcing the project to fast moving traffic, and a public plaza carved out of two of the buildings adjacent to and providing access from the pedestrian parkway allows for outdoor dining, sheltered from the noise of traffic and with spectacular views of the downtown skyline.
